Taking Notes Skirt Tutorial from Sewing in No Mans Land
Oh Kelly, I heart thee. It’s really not fair that one little lady got all this talent. Not only are her sewing tutorials and projects truly inspired, but her photography rocks my socks too. Even if you aren’t going to sew this tutorial, you should browse her blog. You can’t help but be inspired.
<teensy bit jealous but happy sigh>
The Taking Notes skirt tutorial is just perfect for any female, be she woman or child. The only piece that requires a pattern (free to download and print) is the waistband. The ties and the skirt are simply rectangles. This is easy sewing, but the tutorial assumes you know the basics, like how to interface the waistband, gather the skirt, and make the ties.
This would be a perfect “teaching teens or tweens to sew” project. It requires only about a yard of fabric and no buttons or zippers needed.
